Partial service outage, June 7, 2021, 10:35 AM – 11:50 AM.

The outage was caused by an attempted DDoS SYN flood attack on Daktela servers. In combination with daily peak traffic, the server buffers became congested and started discarding some packets.

Our systems detected the outage and the Infrastructure Team then got in touch with NOC DT with whom they consulted subsequent steps.

Measures taken:

  • Firewall rules review,
  • Queue router optimization,
  • Deployment of stricter filtering policies.



The situation was rectified when the attack was suppressed and router capacity was freed up.

The Daktela Infrastructure Team is analyzing the incident and working on comprehensive precautionary measures.

We are currently experiencing partial outage of voice and data services. We are investigating the cause, for status update check https://status.daktela.com.

    Most services should be now fully functional, we are analyzing the root causes of the outage and consulting the situation with our primary connectivity provider.

Dear Customers,
The reason for the service outages of 1 June was a massive DDoS attack on the infrastructure of our connectivity provider, Dial Telecom a.s.
The attack could be noticed by our customers from 3:30 UTC to 10:25 UTC and resulted in degraded quality of Daktela's voice services.
Dial Telecom has already taken appropriate security measures to eliminate similar attacks.

We are currently experiencing partial/full outage of voice/data/mobile services. The root cause of the outage is a massive DDOS attack against our main provider of data services.     Dial Telecom is working intensively to shield the DDoS attack on their network and is working to restore traffic. Problems that you may notice are the unavailability of the PBX website, poor sound quality in calls. We do not currently have more detailed information about the end of the outage, please see https://status.daktela.com.

    Dial Telecom services are slowly going back to the normal, hence they`re still investigating the vectors of the DDoS attack. The services are going up one after another.

    Our partner DialTelecom is still under massive DDOS attack, however, DT was successfully restored almost all functionalities and services. It could happen that some peerings, are limited or cut off. Until the attack will not stops, we can't confirm that all functionalities and services are 100% working. Next update around 12:30 CEST.

Mostly on the affected peerings (carrier interconnect), which can be highly limited or cut off.     We haven't got new information about resume operation yet, especially customers outside Czech republic and Slovakia may face issues.

    Dear customers, We would like to inform you that at the moment we consider the situation around the DDoS attack to be resolved and stabilized. At present, finishing repairs are still in progress without a direct impact on the functionality of services within our network. Occasionally, you may experience a temporary problem with connectivity abroad related to the new protection settings.
